Books Barf and a bunch of Hot Air

Arriving home after Miss's dance class tonight we found a slightly green looking Ray.
He said he was feeling nauseous and should keep his distance just in case.
Then Miss requested an early bedtime for extended story time.
This is a non-deniable request for two big reasons-
1) As a "good" parent it is my responsibility to foster a love of books and reading.
and
2) She has been so unbelievable patient with her new brothers needs and my need to delay her requests in order to feed, diaper, burp... you get the idea.
Upon agreeing to story time my "having such a great day" little baby guy has a sudden, painful onset of gassy, bloated, screaming, yuckiness.
Miss looked concerned. (For her brother or story time I am not sure...)
Just then (in between baby screams) I hear Ray horking in the bathroom.
I look at Miss, her concerned look is fading into one of disappointment.
I just hate that look.
I told Miss to pick her books- the look was replaced by a big smile.
I read books (upside down), bounced, pacifiered, and swayed the baby. I worried and listened for a horking Ray. I smiled and somehow felt contentment in this moment of chaos.
I was able to fill needs.
I was able to please them all.
I had such a great feeling of accomplishment.
It is a lovely, gassy, nauseous, perfectly un-disappointed life,
