May I never forget

I am a weird mix of grateful, touched, and terrified. I am grateful for my beautiful little family. I am touched by the sweet little gestures presented by my sweet little girl. I am terrified that my wandering mind will forget this moment, those gestures. So I write, I photograph, and I STOP, for just a moment and appreciate the moment.

Moment #1
Friday Mya made this ALL BY HERSELF:

note the perfectly positioned (and dressed) girls holding hands and the heart, that speaks VOLUMES to what is most important in her life... LOVE -FRIENDS -TIME with the ones who love her.... We should all have such well placed priorities!

Moment #2

MYA: Mom, I made you something in your bed.
I THINK: (As long as it isn't as special as the wet morning diapers you were hiding under it last month... we are in good shape.)
MOM: Oh, thank you! I will check it out after we finish your bath. (I am not so in to leaving a four year old unattended in the tub.)
MYA: (As getting settled in to bed) Did you check your bed?
MOM: OH! I will go right now!
I SEE:

MOM: Thank you sweetie! That is super cute.

MYA: (Satisfied smile)
MOM: You sure make me feel special.
MYA: Everyday?

MOM: A billion times everyday.

MYA: I love you mommy.

MOM: I love you too.

MOM: Goodnight, my special girl.

MYA: Goodnight my smelly mommy.

MOM: Smelly?

MYA: Good smelly, like flowers.

MOM: Well, you smell like candy.

MYA: Just don't eat me, okay? (giggle)

MOM: I'll do my best.

MYA: (eyes close, smiling)

MOM: Goodnight, candy Mya

MYA: Goodnight, flower Mommy.
