This post is a very special post!
This is the 100th post to your little window to my world:
aka: a life uncommon.
I hope everyone has had fun and found something in my words or photos to bring you joy, wisdom, or at the very least a sense of gratitude in knowing that you know of at one person (maybe more) that is nuttier than you.
I think blogging has really helped me to make very positive changes- in a variety of ways. The biggest change I have noticed is the ability to really appreciate the little moments. By taking the time to reflect and write about life's tiny events I can really SEE the moment and appreciate the significance. Like BEACH day for example. Did you see that prideful look on Mya's (and Kyra's) faces while standing by their names that they spelled ALL BY THEMSELVES?? What an opportunity to really encourage that love of learning.
Well, I could go on and on, but tonight on this 100th blog post I will leave you with this list of 100 things I am grateful for. (I will group them to keep it short and to keep Dad from falling asleep a quarter of the way through...)
1-15) My family- some for helping me become the person I am, others for keeping me there, and finally a couple that keep me striving to be more.
16-20) The few people that are no longer here, but have made a huge impact on the person that I am, the things that I love, and the commitments I have made.
21-23) The parts of my body I am quite happy with.
24-31) The other body parts that really annoy me, but I am certainly grateful for their continued service.
32-45) Our friends. There are not enough words for the burdens carried, aid rendered, or unconditional love given. You are such a lifeline. (For the record... I counted Heather twice.)
46) The health of all the above mentioned 1-45, and below 47-48.
47-48) My bad but sweet dogs. Your diapers prove that I am crazy, your barking drives me there, and the combination of Gizmo's gas and Peanuts breath is enough to cause one to faint- that said, they are family and I am grateful.
49) Stuff. Even though I have too much of it.
50) My home
51) My garden (it still lives in my dreams, but it is slowly becoming a reality.)
52-60) The sweet dreams I can remember that have shaped my life.
61-63) The nightmares that have done the same.
WAKE UP DAD... WE ARE PAST THE HALF WAY POINT!
64) The fact that my Dad can take a joke, however crudely administered.
65)Ray... Ya he was included in 1-15, but he is so much more to me in so many ways, I just had to say it.
66) Mya... (also in 1-15...) I could write her in a billion times and not scratch the surface of my gratitude.
67) The smell of a new book or magazine.
68) The fact that that scorpion Mo found IN THE HOUSE today is very VERY DEAD now.
69) Celebrity gossip.. it can be fun to watch rich people suffer- just a little.
70) Candy, mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm YUMMY
71) Never needing to shovel my driveway in the winter. I SERIOUSLY hate being cold.
72) Packages in the mail. I just LOVE those!
73) Fish oil. That has done good things for my aimlessly wandering brain.
74-75) Did I mention Ray and Mya?
76) Time
77) The opportunity I have been given to spend Mya's pre-school years with her at home, what a beautiful time, what a beautiful gift.
78-80) My gadgets. Two of which, my cell phone and laptop are like my air and water- seriously.
81) Pictures
82) Memories
83-86) Puppies, kittens, rainbows, and all things happy.
87) That little smile Mya gets when she is lost in the perfect dream.
88) Disneyland
89) Ray's ability and desire to pay for Disneyland.
90)Having enough.
91) Still wanting some.
92) Ray's PS3. The hours of free blogging time that has provided- sweet.
93) Occasionally driving all by myself with the radio way too loud, driving way too fast.
94) Sandals. Like my version of the Croc, UGLY but soo comfortable.
95) The show Wipeout. The "banana hammocks", really?!? Way too funny.
96-99) Just a few of the things I have forgotten to list.
100) My blog.
Goodnight.
