The last two nights the skies have darkened with clouds rolling in. Through the windows I watched the trees as the branches danced a monsoon dance. When the moment came that the kids were content and needs for the moment had been filled I had a chance to enjoy it. Quietly I opened the door, a gust of surprisingly hot summer air meeting me outside. I closed my eyes and took in my remaining senses. A sweet combination of musical wind through the trees and the scent of a looming thunderstorm filled my ears, my nose, and my mind.
I LOVE a good thunderstorm. I love the thunder rattling the windows and setting off car alarms. I love the sound of pouring rain and the color of a night sky lit with lightning. I Love the smell of impending rain and the scent of a freshly saturated garden after the storm has passed.
This time the weather passed without a storm. I am hopeful that the season will bring plenty of window rattling, sky lighting, air cooling, sidewalk drenching goodness. (Fingers crossed)
