Mya and Kyra and a Turtle OH MY!

We went to the Phoenix Zoo last Wednesday. Mya was very excited to see Kyra (and Heather) and the Stingrays. Mya was very eager to pet a stingray, but they never really got close enough, they were just kind of swimming near the middle.

Mya made sure to request a few photo ops along the way (like the one here.)

After the stingrays we walked by the giraffes, zebras, and monkeys. We went to the kids area to feed ducks, and then it happened... Mya was "feeding" the ducks/turtles (OK she was really spraying them with handfuls of tiny pebbles and dirt) all of a sudden there is S C R E A M I N G, not the two little girls playing tag screaming, the "a freak in a mask with a chainsaw" screaming.... Mya is scooting backwards as fast as she can screaming at the top of her lungs! So I look down to see A TURTLE- WITH A MASK AND A CHAINSAW!.. Not really, but the little guy did surface at the edge of the water near Mya's feet and she completely FREAKED! Being the wonderful, compassionate mommy that I am I immediately laughed at the whole thing... (Bad mom moment.. oops!)

(Just for clarification, that is Heather in the background.)

I would NEVER so brazenly break the rules like this...

Shame on you girls..Tisk Tisk.... ;)

After we poisoned a few ducks, turtles, and one very persistent little squirrel, we wandered in to see the wallaby's, the little farmer area, and back to the main vending area for lunch. We had a great day! Thanks Heather and Kyra!!
